Travis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Colorado State University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Organizational Behavior at the University of Connecticut. He holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the College of William and Mary, and an MBA degree in Organizational Behavior from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
At Colorado State University, Travis’ primary teaching responsibilities include an undergraduate class (“Leading High Performance Teams”) which focuses on teamwork and leadership skills and a similar class in the Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise MBA program. In addition to being passionate about his teaching responsibilities, Travis has also conducted extensive research in the areas of team effectiveness and leadership. Specifically, his research interests include the role that team contextual variables have on team processes and the development of team psychological states. Recent research endeavors have focused on the effects of shared team experience and familiarity on project team effectiveness; the effect of team members interacting via technology (virtual teams); and the impact that organizational climate has on team dynamics and performance. His research has been published in the Journal of Management, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Human Performance.
